POCKETFUL OF STAMPS
by Bill Graham
Humphrey spent $20 buying stamps (some at 33 cents, some at 22 cents) and
snacks to eat as he walked home. He put some of the stamps in his right
pocket and the rest in his left pocket. The same amount was spent for the
stamps in each pocket. In the right pocket, he had the same number of
22-cent and 33-cent stamps. In the left pocket, the value of the 22-cent
stamps was equal to the value of the 33-cent stamps. If he had no money
left, how much did he spend on snacks?
