FOUR LOGIC PUZZLES

Allan, Bob, Carol, Dave and Florence all received different grades on their
last math test (no plusses or minuses). Nobody got a grade with the same letter as
his or her name. Allan and the C student studied together. Carol passed.
The A and B students live near Carol. Allan got a higher grade than Carol.
Dave did better than Carol but worse than Florence. Who failed?
Brown, Todd, Robinson, Slater, Mitchell, O'Brien, Grant and Ford reach the final round of the amateur boxing championships. They were finalists in the 118 lb., 126 lb., 145 lb. and heavyweight classes.

Using the numbers one through eight, arrange them in a 2×4 grid so that
no two consecutive numbers (like 1&2, or 7&6, etc.) are next to each other
horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Gardner, Plunkett, Maloney, Phelps and Lopez work for the Manhattan Beach Police
Department. Each gets two weeks of vacation a year. Last year, each took the first
week in the first five months of the year and his second week in the last five
months. If each officer took each of his weeks in a different month from the
